24 - The Pitfalls Of Overconfidence

Abusing our liberty in Christ is not only harmful to weaker believers who are watching us, but it endangers our own spiritual lives. No Christian can live on the razor’s edge of freedom—with one foot in the world and one foot in the church—and not expect to invite temptation into their life. When a believer becomes so confident in their strength that think they can handle any situation they encounter, and with relative ease no less, they are usually overconfident and in great danger of falling. Whether it’s sinful or not, being overly confident can—and often does—lead to sin, for which we must be on guard.
